Screw coupling 1:32

The operation of model vehicles in 1:32 scale becomes even more true to the original if the play couplings installed by the manufacturer are replaced with screw couplings. If the radii of the layout or the modules are sufficiently dimensioned, the models do not overbuffer when cornering. Radii from 2,321 mm upwards can be travelled on with a tensioned coupling, and from 1,550 mm with a long coupling.

An adapter is currently being developed for smaller radii, which will also enable operation with a screw coupling in radii of up to 1,020 mm.

The screw coupler can be used as standard with all locomotives (steam, diesel, electric) as well as freight and passenger cars. One set consists of:

• Two screw couplings with coupling bracket, spindle and lugs. All parts are made of metal.
• Two stainless steel springs to keep the clutch in tension on the vehicles.
• Two spring discs that lock at the inner end of the screw clutch and are secured by the springs.
